The First Baptist Church of Greater Des Moines, 8250 NW 62nd Avenue, in Johnston, resumed its weekly Wednesday night activities on September 22, 2021, offering informal opportunities to connect with the Church, fellowship with others, and to grow spiritually through Christian Education activities for children and adults.
The Church, in the heart of the Green Meadows West neighborhood, wiill provide a meal at no charge each week at 6 pm, followed by activities from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Daycare for infants and toddlers will be available. In addition, walk-ons are welcome at the 7:30 pm choir practice.

The meal will be served at 6:00 pm. Reservations are due by noon on Mondays and may be made Here, by signing up at the Church, or calling the Church Office (515) 243-8161.
Trained attendants will be available to provide care for infants and pre-kindergarten children.
Children Activities (kindergarten through fifth grade)
Children will engage in a Bible lesson, play games, and do a craft while learning about how much Jesus loves them.
Youth Group (sixth grade through 12th grade)
This fall’s programming kicks off with a four-week series called “The Big Questions,” which explores identity, belonging and purpose.
Pastor Jay Thornton is leading a study on developing and practicing spiritual disciplines. In the “Sacred Journey” study, Pastor Jay will show how the regular and repetitive practice of spiritual disciplines can help us discern God’s will even in complex situations.
Under the direction of Colby Gochanour, the adult choir practices at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Walk-ons are welcome.
