International Missions

Campus Crusade for Christ

We financially and prayerfully support Ted and Kim Solwick, who are full time ministers with Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU). Kim grew up in our church and her parents are members. CRU works with students and churches to build leadership and promote the growth of the body of Christ.

Heifer International

We support Heifer International in their effort to uplift the lives of families struggling to survive in today's world, by providing monies that are used to purchase a variety of livestock in third world countries. In addition to livestock, Heifer works to develop sustainable farming and to empower women through educational opportunities.

International Ministries

We give ongoing support to five of our American Baptist International Missionaries so that they can continue their ministries around the world. Each of these five missionaries have special ties to our Mid-American Region:

  • Kristy Engel is a global consultant with a focus on health care issues. As a global consultant, Kristy is able to visit countries in need of health assessments, ongoing education, health team visits or other forms of collaboration during crisis and non-crisis situations.
  • Ruth Mooney's ministry is theological education. She lives in Costa Rica where she serves on the faculty of Latin America Biblical University, preparing pastors and leaders for churches throughout Latin America.
  • Ray Schellinger and his wife Adalia founded Deborah's House in Tijuana, Mexico. He is currently reaching out in support of International Ministries partners and colleagues around the world who would like to strengthen their witness to families suffering from violence. Ray is also working as part of a denominational task force on immigration to help churches see beyond the difficulties and begin to embrace the possibilities of mission to and partnership with immigrant individuals and communities.
  • Deliris Carrion-Joseph currently leads the ministry at Deborah's House in Tijuana, Mexico. Occupational therapy and pastoral counseling are two of the many areas where Deliris is able to bring support to women and children affected by domestic violence.
  • Drs. David and Laura Parajon have been serving remote rural communities in Nicaragua since 2001. David is an internist and Laura is a family physician and both have training in Public Health. They work to bring health, hope and healing to the impoverished and vulnerable people of Nicaragua through AMOS - A Ministry of Sharing.
